| There is a common phrase, ‘Do you know your onions well?’ Some effects of drop shadow are tricky and only professional editors can attempt them. Some effects are capable of being fit into any object beautifully. This is where the creativity of the editor helps when the brief is complex as is the requirement to please the client. Onions are referred, as pealing layers-there are layers after layer of the same skin till the core. In photo editing this easily translates to making layers to create the right effect. It isn’t easy to peel of the layers of the onions without the tears. And it isn’t any easier to convince the client about the darker side of drop shadow. But taking the middle road might just help in keeping the client.
